Early Dutch 'Hembrug' Bayonet (Bajonet voor het Geweer M.95). Early bayonets had a curled cross-guard, these were removed around 1900. This is an example with the curled cross guard. The Austrian made bayonet is nicely maker marked by 'OWG' indicating production by the 'Österreichische Waffenfabriks Gesellschaft' from Steyr, the bayonet is numbered '6705 I'. The bayonet is complete with its original brown leather scabberd with belt-loop, complete with horizontal leather retaining strap and brass wire around the bottom of the scabberd. The scabberd is showing various numbers. Nice original early pre-1900 Dutch Hembrug bayonet in good used condition!
