Dutch 'Kepie' for a soldier within the 18th Regiment Infantry. This kepi was part of the 'buitenmodel' tunic, these tunics were privately purchased tunics in field blue-grey woolen cloth. Soldiers who were not able to buy a complete tunic often bought only the kepi. The Kepi is having one blue coloured piping and one gold coloured piping indicating the rank of an adjutant within the Infantry. The regimental numbers '18' indicate the 18th Regiment Infantry. The leather sweatband is in good condition, a name is written on the sweatband; 'C.D.B.van Leeuwen'. The kepi is nicely maker marked. There are some small moth damages, see photos. Nice original kepi in good used condition!
