Dutch Spoon May 1940. A spoon which was sold after 14 May 1940 to support the Netherlands after the German invasion in May 1940. Presumably part of the proceeds from the sale went to the reconstruction of the Netherlands. The front of the spoon contains an image of the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwetoren in Amersfoort and the date May 1940. The back states: "Steunt de wederopbouw van ons vaderland" (Support the reconstruction of our fatherland) with an image of a grenade and an image of the Dutch lion underneath. Decorative original spoon in good used condition!
