Führer and Reichs Chancellor's Standard

Description

Personal Standard of Adolf Hitler or called Führer and Reichs Chancellor's Standard (Standarte des Führers und Reichskanzlers). The use of flags and standards as an identifying symbol for high ranking personnel was an old German military tradition and was continued through-out the Third Reich era. The personal standard of 'Adolf Hitler' was designed after Reichspräsident 'Paul von Hindenburg' died on 2 August 1934. Adolf Hitler abolished the title "Reichspräsident" and in its place instituted the title of "Führer" which henceforth could only be used when referring to him personally. Hitler decided on 19 August 1934 to adopt a personal standard for himself, which was called "Personal standard for Adolf Hitler as Leader and Chancellor of the German Nation". The Führerstandarte came in assorted sizes for use in different situations and was only flown when Hitler was personally present. The flag is made of dual-sided printed wool, the flag is having reinforcement stitching and is complete with both its cord loops. This is a flag in size '1', the flag is sized 50x50 cms. which is a perfect size for display. The flag is having a manufacturer's tag attached indicating production by the company 'Württembergische Cattunmanufactur Heidenheim a.Brz.'. The flag is in good used and actually flown condition showing some small damages and staining but is in overall good condition, see photos. Nice and rare desirable original flag!
