Kriegsmarine Staff Officer's (Kapitän zur See) Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased visor cap, complete with partially damaged celluloid sweat-diamond, marked by the famous 'Peküro' company. The cap is having off white rayon lining material. The grey leather sweatband is in good condition, the cap is size '58' marked on the inside of the sweatband. The visor is showing nicely hand-embroidered gold oakleafs, there is some moth damage to the visor and the visor shows some damage, see photos. The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered wreath and cap-eagle. The leather chinstrap is slightly damaged.
