Waffen-SS M42 Oakleaf Camouflage Smock
Waffen-SS M42 Camouflage Smock (Tarnjacke). This is an M42 type 1 smock having the horizontal lower pockets. The smock is showing a printed, reversible, Oakleaf 'A' (Eichenlaubmuster A) camouflage pattern camouflage. The camouflage pattern has distinctly different colorations to the summer and autumn sides. The pocket flaps and some of the foliage loops are made of plane tree camouflage pattern fabric (platanenmuster). The smock was closed by a cloth closure tie string, it comes with a textbook original string. The elastic elastic around the waistline and the tunnel looped elastics at each cuff have lost most of their elasticity. The elastic around the waistline is nicely covered under a piece of plane tree camouflage cloth. The reversible pocket bags are constructed in standard fieldgrey HBT cotton, one of the pocket flaps is nicely marked with the manufacturer code '933' which is a typical SS manufacturing number. The sleeves have open vented armpits. The fooliage loops are made of different pieces of camouflage, some of the stitching came loose but all loops are present. The smock is showing clear traces of usage, there are some small damages and there is one larger repair to the back of the smock, take a look at the photos for more details. The smocks were designed large enough to fit over the standard field uniform, so it will fit a mannequin easily. Hard to find original Waffen-SS Camouflage Smock. This smock will make a stunning Waffen-SS combat display!
This smock originates from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and was in display in the diorama in the last picture!
