Cased WW1 Iron Cross 2nd Class
World War 1 Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) in original presentation case. Re-instituted by King Wilhelm II on 5 August 1914 for award during WWI. The second class medal was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction and a magnetic core. The cross is maker marked 'M'. The cross comes with its original ribbon, nicely stored in a privately purchased type presentation case. The grey coloured etui is showing minor traces of usage and is in overall very good condition. The inside lid shows an image of an Iron Cross with the script 'Zur erinnerung an Deutschlands große Zeit' (In memory of Germany’s great times). Nice and decorative original set in good condition!
