Luftwaffe 'Hermann Göring' Division Visor Cap
This is a nice original Luftwaffe 'Hermann Göring' Division EM/NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a privately tailor made visor cap, the sweatdiamond is present and nicely maker marked by the obscure rarely seen manufacturer 'Ferd. Matt' from Germersheim. The cap is approximately a size '57'. The leather sweatband is in good supple condition but part of the stitching came loose, see photos. The cap is having the whire 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for personnel serving within units which were part of the (Panzer) Division Hermann Göring or 'Regiment General Göring'. The chinstrap has been removed. The cap is complete with its original zinc type cocarde and cap-eagle as found, the cap eagle looks to be a Belgian produced example. The cap is in overall good used condition with normal traces of usage and some small (moth)damages, see photos. Rare original Luftwaffe 'Hermann Göring' Division visor cap!
