Luftwaffe M35 Map/Dispatch Case (Meldekartentasche M35). Map/dispatch cases were issued on a limited basis to specifically designated personnel such as unit commanders, messengers, and observers. The M35 map/dispatch case was based on the Weimar era Reichsheer pattern map/dispatch case with minor variations. The M35 map/dispatch cases were issued with assorted map reading tools, instruments and accessories. The natural tan leather interior of the case has two compartments with a central leather separating panel. The light-brown leather map case is maker marked by the company of 'Franz Brehme' from Walsrode and dated 1936. The map case is showing various unit markings including one for the '1./Ln.Regt.3 1939' (Luftnachrichten-Regiment 3 "Legion Condor"). The map case comes together with its original contents as found together in a house-cleaning in The Hague in the Netherlands. The contents consist of 2 Luftwaffe Navigation Maps (Luft-Navigationskarte), one of the maps is showing many interesting notes/markings with pencil, see photos. Also included are various (Luftwaffe marked) pencils, a pocket-knife by 'SMF', an eraser and a rare ruler to measure windspeed, the ruler is marked with three-digit code 'gwr'. Rare original complete map case set as found!
