Luftwaffe Tropical Tunic
Luftwaffe Tropical Tunic (Tropenfeldbluse). In late 1940, with the impending German entrance into the North African campaign, tropical uniforms and equipment were quickly developed and issued in time for DAK personnel's arrival in Tripoli in February 1941. Originally the tropical uniforms were only intended for wear in North Africa but that was later expanded to include personnel serving in southern areas of continental Europe during the summer months. The light weight tan cotton construction field blouse has no insignia attached. The tunic is complete with all brown painted pebbled buttons and glass type buttons at the sleeve ends. The tunic is nicely maker marked by the company 'Hermann Frank' from Berlin, there are various size markings (chest size 98cms). The tunic is in very good slightly used condition, a name 'Lenz' is written inside the tunic. Nice and rare original Luftwaffe Tropical Tunic!
