Kriegsmarine 'Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen'

Description

Kriegsmarine High Sea Fleet Badge (Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen). The High Seas Fleet Badge was instituted by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral: 'Erich Raeder' on '30 April 1941' to recognise the actions of personnel serving on German battleships and cruisers in the battle against England. Bestowal criteria varied with the main qualification being twelve weeks of active service on a battleship or cruiser.The badge is executed in tombak (Buntmetall) and shows great detail, this is an early example still showing all 5 bridge windows. The badge is having a complete and funcitional pin and catch. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'Fec. Adolf Bock, Ausf. Schwerin Berlin' indicating production by the company of 'Schwerin & Söhne' in Berlin. The badge is in nicely worn condition, still showing nice gold finish on the wreath and having a nice patina. There is some scratching on the back. Nice original example in good used condition!
