DAF 'Für Vorbildliche Berufserziehung' Wall Plaque
DAF 'Für Vorbildliche Berufserziehung' Wall Plaque (Wandplakette). The DAF (German Labor-front), originally founded in 1933, became an official NSDAP organization in October 1934. DAF’s most important goal was to enforce the political stability of the large mass of work force. Approximately 51,5 x 37,5 cms sized cast iron plaque with a weight of approximately 12kg. The DAF issued 'Leistungsabzeichen' (awards) to companies for certain achievements, including one for 'Vorbildliche Berufserziehung' (for Outstanding Vocational Training Programms). One 1 May 1937 4 of these awards were instituted, designed by professor Kurt Baer, agoldsmith from Berlin. This example looks to be a slightly smaller version of these awards. I could not find any information about the introduction of this plaque, nor could I find any similar examples. The plaque is in very good condition, only showing some minor surface rust, see photos. Extremely rare and decorative original DAF wall plaque!
