Luftwaffe 'Sumpftarn' Paratrooper Smock 1945
Luftwaffe 'Sumpftarn' Paratrooper Smock (Fallschirmschützenbluse) also known as 'Knochensack'. The smock is made of 'Sumpftarn' (tan/water) camouflage material. The smocks were designed to fit over the standard service uniform and are therefore quite large. It is complete with all original and functional plastic type 'RiRi' zippers. The smock is nicely RB.Nr. marked and dated 1945. This smock was constructed of late war mixed materials in the final stages of the war, being a late war product it is partly unfinished, most press-studs have never been placed, the sleeve ends have no sewn buttonholes but small embroidered loops to close the buttons. This is a true example of a hasty late war constructed garment, it never had a breast-eagle applied either. The smock however shows some traces of usage and was most likely issued as is to a soldier in the very last days of the war. Still showing stunning strong camouflage colours and fantastic details, please take a look at the photos. Stunning and desirable original late war 1945 dated Fallschirmjäger smock!
