RAD Enlisted Man’s Hewer with Hanger
RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) Enlisted Man’s Hewer with Hanger (RAD Hauer für Mannschaften und Unterführer). The RAD Hewer was officially approved for wear in August 1934 and was issued to RAD-Unterführer (EM/NCO’s). The hewer has nicely textured stag horn grips. The blade bears the well known factory darkened RAD motto 'Arbeit Adelt' (Labour ennobles). The blade is well marked with the etched manufacturer’s logo and script from the firm 'E.J. Wüsthof' from Solingen. The blade is in good used condition. The black painted scabberd is having nickel/silver parts and is in good used condition. The dagger is complete with the rare original leather hanger, the metal clip is nicely maker marked and dated 1937, the leather flap which normally protects part of the scabberd has een cut-off, see photos. Nice and hard to find original RAD hewer in good used condition!
