WH (Heer) Officer's Dagger 'Eickhorn'

Description

Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Dagger (Heeres Offiziersdolch). The dress dagger was designed by Berlin graphic artist 'Paul Casberg' and was officially approved for wear on '4 May 1935' along with specifically styled dagger hangers and a new pattern portepee. The dagger has a molded, yellow/orange coloured, celluloid grip with the correct diagonally angled ribbing. The dagger comes with its original nickel/silver plated scabbard with a random pebbled pattern to both the obverse and reverse and smooth side panels. The blade is well marked with the etched manufacturer’s logo and script from the company of 'Eickhorn' from Solingen. The blade is in good used condition with some minor staining. The Dagger is complete with its original Portepee and Dagger Hangers (Gehänge) as found together. The hangers are nicely 'D.R.G.M.' marked. Initials are engraved on the cross guard. Nice original dagger in good condition!
