Miniature Kriegsmarine Officer's Dagger
Miniature Kriegsmarine Officer's Dagger/Letter opener (Offiziersdolch als Brieföffner). The Kriegsmarine dagger was a modified version of a traditional design that dates back to the creation of the Prussian Navy in 1848. The main modification of the Third Reich era dagger was a change in the Reichsmarine pattern "flame" shaped pommel to one featuring the national eagle with the swastika. This is a miniature Kriegsmarine officer's dagger as letter opener. The 19,5cms long miniature dagger has a molded, white, bakelite grip. The dagger is having a gilded metal scabberd. The blade is not visible maker marked, the blade is in excellent condition. The miniature dagger is complete with it's original miniature portepee. Decorative original example in very good condition!
