RAD stoneware commemorative plate

Description

This is a nice original RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) commemorative stoneware plate (Wandteller). The FAD was formed in 1929 and was the basis for the National Socialist Labour Service, in 1935 renamed to 'Reichs Arbeitsdienst'. In July 1935 the RAD service became compulsory, with all German citizens between 19 and 25 years of age required to enlist for a six month term. This ceramic plate is a commemorative plate showing the 'RAD' style shovel. The plate could be hung on the wall. The plate is having a diameter of 26cms. The plate is maker marked by the company 'v.d. Trenck' from Kellinghusen. Nice and decorative original piece!
