Cased Miniature Mothers Cross in Silver 'L/16'

Description

Cased Miniature Mothers Cross in Silver (Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter). The Mother's Cross was introduced by Adolf Hitler on 16 December 1938 as part of a large propaganda campaign aimed at increasing the birth rate. With the Bronze cross for bearing four or five children, the Silver cross for bearing six or seven children and the Gold cross for bearing eight or more. This is a nice miniature of the Silver grade cross. The cross comes with its original confectioned ribbon and functional pin/catch set-up. The cross is nicely maker marked with 'L/16' indicating production by the company of 'Steinhauer & Lück' from Lüdenscheid. The cross comes in its original 'LDO' type box. The box is in good used condition, see photos. Nice original set in good condition!
