'Deutsche Reichsbahn' (German National Railway) Carbide Lantern (Laterne). Grey painted metal example. The latern is nicely marked with a national eagle and 'D R' (Deutsche Reichsbahn) designation. The interior lamp fixture, which is removable, is dated 1957, reflecting the fact that there were many items that were produced during the Third Reich which, because of their utilitarian nature, continued to be used well into the post war period. The lantern is in good uncleaned condition as found, see photos. Decorative original piece of equipment!
