Early Luftwaffe Belt & Buckle 'crank-catch' 1935

Description

Luftwaffe EM/NCO's aluminum belt & buckle (Koppel mit Koppelschloß). Originally the EM/NCO’s buckles were produced with a silver finish until a blue/grey version was introduced around mid-1940, and a tropical olive drab version was introduced in late 1940. Nice early first pattern aluminum example, showing the so-called 'droop-tail' eagle and having the rarer crank-type catch. The buckle is not visible maker marked or dated, the buckle is showing minor traces of usage, there is some slight surface rust on the prong-bar. The buckle is complete with leather tab, the tab is nicely unit marked. The buckle comes together with its original chocolate brown 100cms long sized leather belt as found together. The belt is nicely maker marked by the company 'Riebel & Söhne' from Ingolstadt and dated 1935. The belt is showing a 'L.B.A.' (Luftwaffe Beschaffungs Amt) marking and various early unit markings, see photos. Rare and hard to find original early matching Luftwaffe belt & buckle in good used condition!
