'Franz Ritter von Epp' Portrait Photgraph

Description

This is a nice original World War 1 period portrait photograph, depicting 'Franz Ritter von Epp'. Von Epp served as a volunteer in East Asia during the Boxer rebellion in 1900–01 and then became a company commander in the colony of German South-West Africa. During the First World War, he served in France, Serbia, Romania, and at the Isonzo front. For his war service, Epp received numerous medals, of which the Pour le Mérite (29 May 1918) was the most significant. He also served as leader of the German Colonial Society, an organization devoted to regaining Germany's lost colonies.The photograph measures approximately 14 x 9 cms in size and is printed on postcard paper. Nice and decorative original postcard!
