Infantry Assault Badge in Silver 'S&L'

Description

The Infantry Assault Badge in silver was introduced on 20 December 1939 by Generaloberst 'Walther von Brauchitsch', for award to all ranks of non-motorized, Infantry and Mountain Infantry units who participated in three different assaults on three different days. The badge is executed in 'Feinzink' and still retains almost all of its original silver finish, the front of the badge has turned a bit darker. The pin and catch are complete and functional. The badge is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of 'Steinhauer & Lück' from Lüdenscheid. Late war variant. Nice original badge in good condition!
