KM/U-boot Protective leather jacket
Kriegsmarine/U-boot Protective leather jacket (Lederjacke). Protective leather jackets, pants and coveralls were listed as special clothing and were issued to engine personnel, certain deck and bridge personnel and U-Boat personnel when engaged in specific functions. These leather Kriegsmarine garments were also very popular amongst Wehrmacht Panzer crew members. The jacket is nicely maker marked by the company of 'Hans Trepte & Co' from Radebeul and dated 15 March 1942, the jacket is size '52' marked. The jacket is nicely marked with a Kriegsmarine acceptance stamp showing a large impressed eagle above a 'M'. There is some moth damage to the woolen lining material, see photos. The leather is still very supple. Very nice originel Kriegsmarine leather jacket, great for a KM/U-boot or even WH 'Panzer' display!
