Kriegsmarine 'Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen'

Description

Kriegsmarine High-Sea Fleet Badge (Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen). The High Seas Fleet Badge was instituted by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral: 'Erich Raeder' on '30 April 1941' to recognise the actions of personnel serving on German battleships and cruisers in the battle against England. Bestowal criteria varied with the main qualification being twelve weeks of active service on a battleship or cruiser. The badge is executed in 'Zink' (zinc) and shows great detail, the badge still retains most of its original finish which is uncommon for this manufacturer. The badge is having a complete and funcitional pin and catch. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'R.S.& S.' indicating production by the company of 'Richard Sieper & Söhne' from Lüdenscheid. Hard to find original example in very good condition!
