Kriegsmarine Staff Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased visor cap, complete with celluloid sweat-diamond, complete with name-tag to 'Dr.med. Hain', most likely indicating Kapitän zur See 'Johannes Hain' who was the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Naval Group West (Marinegruppenkommando West). The visor is showing nicely handembroidered gold oakleafs. The cap is having the typical blue navy rayon lining material. The grey leather sweatband is in good condition, the cap is size '56' marked on the inside of the sweatband. The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered wreath and cap-eagle. The cap has a great shape and look. The cap is showing only minor traces of usage and is in overall very good condition, see photos.
