This is an original period 'Adolf Hitler' Bronze Bust (Büste des Reichskanzlers Adolf Hitler). The heavy quality, life size, bust is signed by the famous sculptor named 'H.M. Ley'. Hedwig Maria Ley (1888-1978) was a German sculptor from Soest. Ley studied at the applied arts school in Munich and became a student of Hans Stangl from 1920. She sympathized with the Nazi movement and was personally acquainted with Adolf Hitler. The Hitler bust made by her in 1932 was the first Hitler work of art authorized by the party. This is an example of the Bust she sculpted in 1932. The bronze buste is 29cms high. The total weight of the bust is approximately 4.5kgs. The bust is showing a beautiful patina and is in untouched and uncleaned condition. This is a stunning life size Hitler bust which must have stood in a public place, this is a truly rare and impressive piece of Third Reich Propaganda!
