Luftschutz M38 Gladiator Helmet with Decal (Stahlhelm M38). The RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) was an official national organization tasked with all aspects of civil air raid defence. On 26 September 1938 a specific helmet for RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) personnel was introduced that incorporated a raised horizontal bead between the visors and crown. These helmets were commonly called the "Gladiator" style helmet. This is a three piece M38 type Luftschutz helmet, the helmet is in good condition, complete with liner and chinstrap. The helmet is having an artificial leather type liner, the liner is in dry and slightly damaged condition, see phoots. The helmet retains most of its blue-grey paint, the Luftschutz decal is placed on front and is present for about 95%. The reverse interior neck guard apron is nicely marked 'RL2 38/28' indicating production in 1939, there is a white ink marking with the maximum sales price of 8 Reichsmark (Höchstpreis RM 8). The helmet is complete with its original slightly damaged chinstrap. Nice original Luftschutz helmet in good used condition!
