Luftwaffe 'Nachrichten' Tunic Grouping
Luftwaffe 'Nachrichten' Tunic Grouping. The grouping is including his nice high quality, privately purchased, blue/grey wool construction 1935 pattern Luftwaffe four-pocket tunic (Waffenrock), a pair of straight pants, visor cap (Schirmmütze) and boots. The tunic features a vertical, four button, front closure. The tunic is having an early pattern hand-embroidered drooptail breast-eagle neatly hand-stitched to the right breast. A pair of collar tabs and shoulder-boards of the sew-in type are nicely applied to the tunic, the insignia are showing the orange/brown branch-colour (Waffenfarbe) as intended for an 'Feldwebel der Nachrichten' (Signals). On the wearer's left breast a ribbon-bar is attached showing ribbons for the Luftwaffe four years long service medal and the 1 October 1938 medal with 'Pragerburg' clasp attached. All insignia are original applied to the tunic. The interior of the tunic is lined in light grey/blue rayon, the tunic is nicely maker marked by the tailor 'Traugott Rahne' from Hannover, the tunic is complete with name-tag and dated 9 Septembe 1937. The tunic is complete with it's original matching pair of straight legged trousers. Both the tunic and trousers are in very good only slighlty worn condition. The privately purchased visor cap is complete with its original sweatdiamond which is nicely maker marked by the company of 'Carl Halfar' from Berlin. The cap is dated 1939 (Lieferjahr 1939), the cap is approximately a size '55/56'. The cap is having the copper-brown 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Signals personnel. The leather sweatband is in good, slightly damaged, condition. The cap is complete with it's original zinc-type cap-eagle and aluminum cocarde, the simulated leather chinstrap is in good condition. The cap shows normal traces of usage. The tall blackened leather boots are nicely marked and dated with 'Fl.Sch.Brg. 37' and 'Schüler Kp', the soles and heels have been period repaired/replaced. The boots are in good worn condition. Original grouping as found together, sets like this don't turn up every day anymore. This would make a great display!
