Luftwaffe Signals Obergefreiter's Greatcoat
Luftwaffe Signals Obergefreiter's Greatcoat (Mantel). The Greatcoat belonged to the standard equipment of every soldier. The greatcoat could be worn in cold weather or rain and all other conceivable situations. Luftwaffe grey woolen construction, it has two rows of six front closure buttons and the greatcoat also has a single metal hook and eye at the neckline. The heavy quality greatcoat is partially lined with grey/tan cotton lining material. The greatcoat is nicely size marked (chest size: 94cms) and maker marked by the company 'W. Blicker & Co' from Karlsruhe. The greatcoat is showing a 'L.B.A.(S)40' (Luftwaffe Beschaffungs Amt Stuttgart 1940) marking. Shoulder-board loops and buttons are present. A pair of collar-tabs is original hand-sewn to the collar indicating the rank of an 'Obergefreiter'. A matching Obergefreiter's rank chevron is sewn to the sleeve. The greatcoat is showing only minimal traces of years of storage, see photos. Nice original Luftwaffe greatcoat!
