Luftwaffe Signals Obergefreiter's Greatcoat
Luftwaffe Signals Obergefreiter's Greatcoat (Mantel). The Greatcoat belonged to the standard equipment of every soldier. The greatcoat could be worn in cold weather or rain and all other conceivable situations. Luftwaffe grey woolen construction, it has two rows of six front closure buttons and the greatcoat also has a single metal hook and eye at the neckline. The heavy quality greatcoat is partially lined with grey/tan cotton lining material. The greatcoat is nicely size marked (chest size: 100cms) and maker marked by the 'Uniformfabrik Ravensberg' from Bielefeld and dated 1941. Shoulder-board loops and buttons are present and the greatcoat is complete with a pair of shoulder straps as intende for a Signals (Nachrichten) soldier. A pair of collar-tabs is original machine-sewn to the collar indicating the rank of an 'Obergefreiter'. A matching Obergefreiter's rank chevron is sewn to the sleeve, together with a teleprinter trade badge (Fernschreibprüfung B Abzeichen). There is some minor moth-damage and staining, see photos, overall very good condition. Luftwaffe greatcoats with original applied insignia are rarely found, this will make a great display. Nice original Luftwaffe greatcoat!
