RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) Enlisted Man’s Hewer with Hanger (RAD Hauer für Mannschaften und Unterführer). The RAD Hewer was officially approved for wear in August 1934 and was issued to RAD-Unterführer (EM/NCO’s). The hewer has nicely textured stag horn grips. The blade bears the well known RAD motto 'Arbeit Adelt' (Labour ennobles). The blade is well marked with the etched manufacturer’s logo and script from the firm 'Alcoso' from Solingen. The blade is in very good condition. The black painted scabberd is having nickel/silver parts and is in perfect condition. The dagger is complete with the rare original leather hanger, both the metal clips are nicely maker marked and dated 1938/1939. Nice and hard to find original RAD hewer in very good condition!
