Rare First Pattern 'Feldgendarmerie' Armband (Armbinde). The armband is executed in a technique similar to the 'BeVo'- weave technique, it is showing the interwoven yellow-coloured script 'Feld-Gendarmerie' on a green-coloured linnen background. These armbands were worn by members of the Military Field Police (Feldgendarmerie). Feldgendarmerie units were generally given occupation duties in territories directly under the control of the Wehrmacht. Their duties policing the areas behind the front lines ranged from straightforward traffic control and population control to suppression and execution of partisans and the apprehension of enemy stragglers. The armband is a bit wrinkeld and showing some staining and minor damages. Rare and hard to find original armband in good used condition!
