Royal Dutch Navy Dagger (Marine Ponjaard M1880). Belonged to the standard equipment of a midshipman in the Royal Dutch Navy, the model was introduced around 1880. This is a modern produced example as currently in use by the Royal Dutch Navy. The double edged blade is in very good condition showing excellent etchings, the ricasso is nicely maker marked by the company of 'WKC' from Solingen, a nice carton facorty tag is attached to the dagger. The dagger is having a white coloured molded grip. The dagger is complete with its original gilded scabbard. This dagger originates from a Dutch Naval Officer who was stationed at the Dutch Caribbean Island of Curaçao. Nice original Modern Dutch Navy Dagger!
