SA Kepi - 'SA-Gruppe Ostmark'
SA Service Kepi (SA-Dienstmütze).The SA (Sturmabteilung) was originally formed in August 1921 as a protective guard unit for the political leaders of the NSDAP. Early kepis originally didn't have a coloured panel, after 1933 the colour bands were introduced for all ranks. This Kepi is having a factory sewn pink colour band indicating the 'SA-Gruppe Ostmark'. The kepi is in heavily damaged condition showing multiple repaired (moth)damages and the complete top section has been replaced, see photos. All insignia including the political front style button will probably have been replaced as well. The chinstrap is missing. The kepi is not visible maker marked or dated. Overall still in displayable condition and priced at only a fraction of what a nice untouched Ostmark Kepi would have cost. So still a nice piece of political headgear for a fair price!
