Early Transitional Reichswehr/Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Sword/Saber (Säbel für Offiziere). The sword has a molded, black, bakelite grip with the correct horizontal silver wire wrap. The grip is in overall good condition with no chips or cracks. The obverse rounded tip, shield shaped, languet shows embossed oak leafs. The blade is nicely maker marked by a distributer called 'Adolf Braun' from Berlin. The blade is in good used condition showing minor staining. The scabbard retains almost all of its original dark bluing. The sword comes with its original Portepee and brown woolen carrying bag (Stoffhülle). Nice original sword in good condition!
