WH (Heer) Award-Document Grouping

Description

WH (Heer) Award-Document Grouping from Obergefreiter 'Helmut Schwarz', he was a member within the 'Infanterie-Regiment 30' which was later named the 'Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 30'. The grouping is consisting of 8 Award-Documents (Urkunden), all in (DIN) A5 size. Helmut was awarded with the Westwall Medal on 17 November 1939. He was awarded with the Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eiserne Kreuz 2. Klasse) on 7 April 1942, this document is personally signed by Generalmajor 'Werner von Erdmannsdorff', von Erdmannsdorff was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Helmut was awarded with the Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Bronze) on 20 May 1942. On 10 September 1942 Helmut was awarded with the Ostmedal. Helmut was wounded in action on 12 April 1942 and was awarded with the Wound Badge in Black (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz) on 27 October 1942. Apparently he had allready been wounded on 22 November 1941 and again on 14 November 1943, therefore he was awarded with the Wound Badge in Silver on 20 December 1943, for some reason he again received an award-document for the Wound Badge in Silver on 24 January 1944. Then another injury dating back to 16 April 1942 was registered and he was wounded again on 18 January 1945, therefore he was awarded with the Wound Badge in Gold on 5 February 1945. Some of the documents have been folded, see photos. Interesting original grouping which certainly merits further investigation!
