WH (Heer) DAK M40 Tropical Tunic

Description

First Pattern WH (Heer) DAK M40 Tropical Tunic (Tropenfeldbluse M40). In late 1940, with the impending German entrance into the North African campaign, tropical uniforms and equipment were quickly developed and issued in time for DAK personnel's arrival in Tripoli in February 1941. Originally the tropical uniforms were only intended for wear in North Africa but that was later expanded to include personnel serving in southern areas of continental Europe during the summer months. The light weight khaki/olive cotton construction field blouse is complete with an original hand applied BeVo woven tropical breast-eagle and a set of original machine-sewn BeVo-woven tropical collar tabs. Shoulder strap loops and buttons are present. The shoulder-straps are in my opinion not orignal and won't be included in the sale, so it comes without straps. The field blouse is nicely size marked and dated 1941 (B41). The small bandage pocket on the inside is missing. The tunic is showing only minor traces caused by years of storage. Rare original early tropical field blouse in very good, near mint, condition!

Please note: it will be sold without shoulder-straps!
