WH (Heer) Honor Roll Clasp

Description

WH (Heer) Honor Roll Clasp (Ehrenblattspange des Heeres). With the invasion of the Soviet Union, Hitler instituted the 'Honor Roll of the German Army', which was to record honorable and heroic deeds performed by members of the German Army. However, no outward representation of entry in the roll existed until late in the war, namely 1 January 1944, when Hitler introduced the Honor Roll Clasp of the German Army and Waffen SS. The award criteria for the clasp were to perform an outstanding act, but one which did not merit recommendation for the Knights Cross or German Cross. The clasp is in good used condition, showing polished highlights. The clasp is attached to a piece of Iron Cross Ribbon with it's four original soldered prongs. Scarce original example in good condition!
