WH (Heer) Infantry Officer's Visor Cap
WH (Heer) Infantry Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice early cap which in my opinion is an EM/NCO's army issue example period upgraded to an officer's rank. The celluloid sweat-diamond ('Raute') is damaged, the cap is size '55½' marked. The leather sweatband is in good condition. The cap is nicely maker marked on the inside of the sweatband and dated 1939. The Visor cap is piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Infantry personnel. The cap is complete with its original aluminum type cap eagle and nickel-silver cocarde. The cap is having a correct officer's type chinstrap. The cap is showing normal traces of usage but is in overall very good condition, the visor looks like it has been slightly repaired with some glue once, see photos. Nice looking early Wehrmacht visor cap in good condition!
