WH (Heer) M35 DD Combat Helmet

Description

Wehrmacht (Heer) Double Decal M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its typical early pre-war apple-green paint, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage and some surface rust. Both decals are in very good condition with some minor damage and scratches caused by usage, both decals are retained for about 90%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact and are showing the typical early apple-green colour. The interior of the helmet is an very early M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the liner is size '58' marked. The early liner is having a single aluminum liner ring which is nicely maker marked by the 'Schubert Werke' from Braunschweig, this is a very early liner which is also marked on the leather by the 'Schubert Werke' and is dated 1934. The leather has been treated with grease once for better preservation. The shell is marked with maker and size 'NS66' which indicates production by the 'Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke AG' in Schwerte. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number which looks to read 'I 37'.  The helmet is complete with an original early leather chinstrap with aluminum roller-buckle and studs. The chinstrap is faintly marked. Nice and honest original early WH (Heer) M35 DD Helmet in good used condition!
