Wehrmacht (Heer) M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The stamped sheet steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured, field-grey paint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage, see photos. A standard Heeres decal is applied to the left side of the helmet, the decal is retained for about 80%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an M31 leather liner with steel liner-ring, all eight fingers are present, one finger is slightly damaged. The liner is complete with its original liner cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'EF62'. 'EF' is indicating production by the 'Emaillerwerke AG' from Fulda. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped lot-number '700'. A name is written in the liner and 'WJ' initials are painted inside the helmet. Nice original M40 combat helmet in good used condition!
