WH (Heer) 'Nachrichten' (Signals) EM/NCO's Crusher style Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a semi-crusher cap without chinstrap having woven insignia attached and a foldable shape being a so-called 'Alter-Art' crusher style cap. The cap is not visible maker marked. The Visor cap is piped in the bright-yellow (Zitronengelb) 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Signals personnel. The leather sweatband is in used condition and came partially loose, see photos. The cap is complete with original machine-sewn flat-wire woven cocarde but unfortunately missing the cap-eagle. The cap is showing clear traces of usage and is having a fantastic shape. This would be a stunning cap when restored with a proper flat-wire cap-eagle. Stunning original crushers style cap for a fair price!
