Wehrmacht (Heer) NCO's K98 Dress Bayonet with Frog and Portepee (Extraseitengewehr mit Seitengewehrtasche). This is a private purchase version of the S84/98 bayonet for dress wear. The bayonet was, accompanied by a bayonet frog, to be worn on the reverse left side of the load carrying waist belt. The blade is in good used condition and nicely maker marked with the logo and full name of the company 'Aesculap-Werke Jetter & Scheerer' from Tuttlingen. The scabberd is showing some normal traces of usage. The parade style frog is in good used condition. The bayonet knot or portepee is a standard Army NCO's type as intended for Infantry units. Nice original dress bayonet in good used condition!
