WW2 US Army Air Forces Type A2 Leather Flight Jacket

World War 2 U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) Type A2 Leather Flight Jacket. The leather flight jacket's, sometimes casually referred to as a bomber jacket, original designation was "Jacket, Pilot's (summer)". Worn by pilots, navigators and bombardiers, who often decorated their jackets with squadron patches and elaborate artwork painted on the back. Traces of a removed patch on the left upper sleeve are clearly visible. The jacket is having a functional Conmar zipper. The leather is showing normal traces of usage and is in overall good used condition, the jacket is complete with often missing original wool waistband and cuffs. The jacket is complete with US Property tag and size 38 marked. A China-Burma-India insignia in leather is sewn on the right shoulder and lieutenant's bars are sewn to the epaulettes. A Korean War period Blood Chit is sewn inside the lining indicating that the jacket has been worn until the 50s, the text in various languages says "The English text reads: I am an American. I do not speak your language. Misfortune forces me to seek your assistance in obtaining food, shelter and protection from the communists. Please take me to someone who will provide for my safety and see that I am returned to my people. I will do my best to see that no harm comes to you. My government will reward you.". Rare original A-2 Type Flight Jacket in good used condition!
