Wehrmacht (Heer) Double Decal M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its original fieldgrey paint, the paint is showing minor scratches and traces of storage. Both decals are in very good condition with some minor damage and scratches caused by usage, both decals are retained for about 98%. The Heer decal is the so-called 'Big-Foot' decal typical for this manufacturer. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact. The early size '57' liner is having a reinforced aluminum liner ring. The original liner cord is present. There is a nice 'Wehrmacht-Beschaffungsamt' dome-stamp inside the shell. The shell is marked with maker and size 'Q64' which indicates production by the company 'F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H.' from Esslingen. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '3225' and shows the written name and rank 'General M. Strahammer' and date 1945. Martin Strahammer (13 November 1890 – 2 May 1945) was an Austrian general in the armed forces of Nazi Germany during World War II. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. He was awarded with the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 30 January 1942 as Oberstleutnant and commander of Panzer-Jäger-Abteilung 240. On 11 August 1944 he was awarded the Oakleaves to the Knight's Cross as Oberst and commander of Grenadier-Regiment 146. He was promoted to Generalmajor on 1 April 1945 as commander of the '114. Jäger-Division'. Following his surrender, he was shot by American forces on 2 May 1945 at Parma under unclear circumstances. The helmet is complete with its original early leather chinstrap with aluminum roller-buckle and studs. The chinstrap is nicely maker marked by 'G. Schiele' from Loburg and dated 1939.
