Luftwaffe arm badge as intended for female Flak helpers of the Corps of Female Anti-Aircraft Auxiliaries (Flakwaffen Helferinnenkorps). The 'Flakhelferin' assisted the anti-aircraft batteries by operating assorted aircraft visual and sound detection equipment, radar stations, searchlights, command posts and fire control equipment, etc. but were not permitted to actually man the anti-aircraft weapons until the final months of the war. The distinctive sleeve trade badge was to be worn on the upper right sleeve. The badge is executed in silver-white linnen embroidered on a Luftwaffe blue-grey woolen background. A nice and unusual piece of womens related insignia in good unissued condition!
