This is a standard Wehrmacht 'Fettbuchse' (Butter Dish or Fat-Container). These containers rank among the 'basic' equipment of any front-soldier and were stored in the bread-bag. The dark-brown/black coloured bakelite container is in good condition and fully functional. Example opens in 1/4 turn like it should be. There are matching bakelite markings on both parts and the butter dish is dated 1944. The container is showing some normal traces of usage. Nice original example in very good condition!
