Waffen-SS 'Artillerie' EM/NCO Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased field-grey wool construction visor cap, made by 'Lassalle & Zürchel - Inh. Ernst Priebe' at the Bernerstr.17 in Berlin W8. The Visor cap is having the extremely rare coloured piping in the red 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for SS Artillery personnel. The outside of the cap is in perfect condition with only traces of wear. The interiour of the cap is in very good but heavily worn condition and really shows combat. The cap is complete with a rare set of original cupal 'Overhoff' insignia. The black leather chinstrap is missing since the war, it gives the cap an extra nice look. Extremely rare original cap in good used condition!
