Personally Signed 'Markus Zeidler' Knight's Cross Photo

Description

This is a nice small-sized portrait photograph of Luftwaffe Major 'Markus Zeidler' that was personally signed by him at the back. Markus was awarded with the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 9 May 1942 as commander of the 'Kampfgruppe z.B.V. 600', the Knight's Cross was awarded to him for the successes of his Kampfgruppe z.B.V. 600 in its aerial supply flights to the Heeresgruppe Mitte and the troops in the Demyansk pocket during the winter of 1941-1942. Nice quality portrait showing Zeidler wearing his four-pocket tunic (Waffenrock) and overseascap. His Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (Ritterkreuz des Eisernes Kreuz) is clearly visible around is neck. He's also wearing his German Cross in Gold (Deutsches Kreuz in Gold) around his waist (above belt on right side). A Luftwaffe Pilot's Badge (Flugzeugführerabzeichen), an Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1e Klasse), a Transport and Glider Squadron Clasp (Frontflugspange für Transport- und Luftlandeflieger) and a Wound Badge (Verwundeten Abzeichen) are visible on his left-breast. The ribbon for the Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2e Klasse) is sewn through one of the buttonholes of his tunic. The photograph measures approximately 5,5 x 8,5 cms in size and is in good condition. Unique portrait photograph of the highly decorated Luftwaffe Major 'Zeidler'!
