Set of 2 'Hans Joachim Jabs' Photographs

Description

This is set of two photographs of the famous Luftwaffe night-fighter pilot Oberstleutnant 'Hans Joachim Jabs'. Jabs was awarded with the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 1 October 1940 and Oak Leaves were added on 24 March 1944 (Ritterkreuz des Eisernes Kreuz mit Eichenlaub). Jabs received the German Cross in Gold on 31 August 1943 as Hauptmann in the 11./Nachtjagdgeschwader 1. The first photograph shows Jabs struggling with sunlight in his face. His KC is clearly visible in this photograph. This photograph measures approximately 11,5 x 9 cms and was developed on Agfa-Brovira photopaper. Unfortunately there's some staining on this photograph, however still a unique image! The other photograph shows Jabs from the side, wearing his Fliegerbluse with a collartab clearly visible, indicating he was the rank of an Oberleutnant (Flying Officer) at that time. This photograph measures approximately 12 x 9 cms in size. This is a great opportunity to buy two original private photgraphs of Hans Joachim Jabs!
